just replaced the battery on i phone 6. everything is working but there are lines across the top of the screen about 1 cm long going from left to right. The lines are semi transparent. I've tried re seating the cables and doing a hard reset. Any suggestions will be appreciated!

This is common where there's an issue with the digitizer cable. You could try cleaning out the cable and connector socket with 90% isopropyl alcohol. This doesn't sound like you'd have any bent pins, but check for that. It's also possible you've damaged the cable on the display

after a few hours, the little lines have vanished and the phone is operating normally. Weird.
