Mon problème

Our MacBook Pro had a noisy left fan.

Ma solution

The repair is reasonably straightforward. The only difficult part is that I had to remove the left speaker enclosure to get at one of the Torx screws that holds the fan in place. From memory, the guide on iFixit for the fan replacement is written for the 15 inc . . .

Laptop had was making an awful racquet and determined that the left fan got out of balance.

The repair went very smoothly. We found a Youtube video that showed all the hidden screw locations and special tools required. We easily took the laptop apart, installed the new fan, put it back together, and . . .

Mon problème

On my 17in Macbook Pro, I started having a lot of noise coming directly from my left fan. So I removed the left fan and made sure it was lubricated properly and then reinstalled. Unfortunately, this fix was only temporary...the fan quit working within a week.

Mon problème

My old fan was so noisy it made working on my mac almost unbearable. A constant brbrbrbbrbrbrbrbbrb... It was time to start shopping for a new mac book or try and fix it. I'm so lucky I found ifixit.com!

The fan sounded like a Tardis and the laptop would overheat and ruin the battery.

The repair went very well, thanks to clear instructions. I was even able to work on my giant space alien head the same evening.
