Description

Description

This complete set of replacement adhesive strips are specifically cut to fit 21.5" iMacs from Late 2012 through Mid 2017. The individual adhesive strips are labeled to indicate their correct location as shown in the replacement guides.

The unique design of the 21.5" iMac requires the replacement of the adhesive strips whenever the display assembly is removed. Fortunately, these adhesive strips are actually a foam tape, easily cut with an iMac Opening Wheel. Unfortunately, the display has to be removed every time anything needs to be replaced or upgraded inside the machine.

Mon problème

Bought the 4k Retina iMac from Best Buy for a great price, and didn't even thing about the fact that I was getting an HDD. Oh. My. Goodness. Tough to go back to HDD after getting used to flash/SSD storage. I ended up downgrading size from a 1TB HDD to a 525 GB SSD, but the speed is light years bette . . .

needed to replace hard disk drive to ssd.

Ma solution

The strips were all partially peeled and I had a hard time to apply this to iMac. Some parts are even stretched or messed. However, I managed to apply all some how and did work in the end.

I'd love to see improvement on the product quality. Strips itself was g . . .

Installed an SSD instead of the 6-year old HDD.

Worked as intended. Seems like good stuff.

A friend recommended your site. Very grateful to him and to you guys.

Just replacing Apple's slow standard 1TB SATA HDD with a new 500GB f-a-s-t SSD.

Ma solution

Very well and smooth. Only issue was a minor misalignment of the display when re-assembling. Off just a tiny bit, but enough for the discerning eye at the right angle.

The stock 8 gigs is not enough under High Sierra for much more than email and browsing. Wanted to be able to run Virtual Machines of Windows 10 and some Linux distro

I followed one user's advice and was able to exchange the memory without the full breakdown. I was able to loosen the motherboard scr . . .

I replaced a regular HDD with an SSD.

Ma solution

It went well for the most part. The pizza cutter tool didn't go quite deep enough to sever all of the adhesive. So I had to use a pick to go a little deeper. Not a big deal. My main issue was that the protective film on the adhesive strips weren't aligned properl . . .

Mon problème

The spinning HDD side of the Fusion drive developed unrecoverable hard damage. Led to a surprising number of spinning beach balls.

Ma solution

Straight forward. The wheel cut made screen removal quick.

Aging iMac needed a caffeine shot. Maxed our memory and upgraded spinning disc with SSD. Like a brand new family computer again!

Ma solution

Replaced the stock (x2) 4GB SO-DIMMS with (x2) 8GB, and 1TB spinning disc with a 512GB Crucial SSD. Offloaded bulk of iTunes library (400+GB by itself) to my NAS.
