Mon problème

The iPhone was scuffed in many ways, so I was like, let's buy a new case, screen, home button, etc...

Ma solution

Everything went well, except for the screen, which still had some white pressure spots, even though it was a new screen.

The volume buttons are a pain in the **** to replace, but with enough patien . . .

Mon problème

Camera would not power up. I found that the CMOS battery receptacle solder points had come undone. I tried to re-solder but it didn't work. I think the poor connection damaged something else in the mother board. I purchased a manufacturers refurbished MB on eBay for $159.00.

Ma solution

Replaced the main board. . . .

Mon problème

Original battery was not holding a charge. Phone started shutting down at random times.

Ma solution

Exactly as advertised. Tiny screws are really, really tiny!

Mon conseil

Mon problème

2 broken foot pads.

Ma solution

Extremely easy. Spent more time cleaning out dust bunnies than replacing the foot pads.

Mon problème

Broken screen

Ma solution

I’ve done a few of these repairs so it went very well except I didn’t realize the iPhone 7 had a new type of screw inside the phone. I had to put off the repair until I was able to order the tri-point driver

Mon conseil

Don’t forget to order the Tri-point Y000 driver bit and a handle to go wit . . .

Mon problème

Damaged dock, slow phone.

Ma solution

The repair went beautifully. Could have used stereo magnifiers, though. Did a cold reboot, then discharged to 10% followed by a non-stop charge to 100%. Had a fast phone again with long battery life.

After about a week, it wouldn’t take a charge unless the battery was dow . . .

Mon problème

Another broken iphone screen. I repair phone and other electronics for a living. This was a family members phone so not a paid job but you always help out family.

Ma solution

Like clock work. iPhone 7 in minuets.

Mon conseil

Since this was a family members phone there is no advice. But if you repairs as much as I do treat e . . .

Mon problème

Had to replace a broken screen

Ma solution

Using the guide from the site, I was easily able to take the watch apart and replace the screen without a hitch.

Mon conseil

It's easier to tear apart using a great shrink gun to help loosen the seal around the edges.

Mon problème

Broken Screens or other broken parts

Ma solution

Mon problème

The battery was old and had gone through many cycles. It was not holding charge like it used to and would often require charging throughout the day.

Ma solution

The repair went really well. The instructions were easy to follow as well as the plethora of resources on ifixit as well as youtube. The only annoying p . . .
