Use a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the outer frame. The frame is held to the rest of the phone with plastic tabs. Release each tab one at a time around the phone for easiest removal.

The home button cable is attached to both the front and the back of the outer frame with adhesive. Orient the frame so that where the screen would be is facing you. Peel back the black rubber tab covering the wire. Detach the cable from the frame with a plastic opening tool and let hang. Flip the phone over and detach the button sensor part of the cable from the frame with a spudger.
