I found it easier to start with the USB. And like others, there was no need to remove the siding. The battery was held in with double-backed tape. Thanks

Thanks for this guide. It was really helpful. I did not need to remove the silver siding to replace the battery. Is this step optional?

I am glad this was useful mrbaker1917!! Yes, removing the silver sliding is optional but useful if you are trying to replace anything else on your tablet.
