Introduction

The fan is necessary to prevent the laptop from overheating. This guide will show you how to properly remove the fan component in the Sony Vaio Fit SVF15N26CXB. Use the project mat to keep the screws organized.

Remove two (2) 6.5mm PH00 Phillips head screws in the top corners of the back cover. These may be hidden by a rubber stopper. To remove, use a plastic spudger to pry the stopper out. Remove two (2) center top and two (2) side  8.95mm PH00 Phillips head screws.

The static wrist strap prevents static charges to the device so be sure to apply it. Put the elastic strap around your wrist and pull on the protruding tab to tighten. Fix the tightening by pressing in the plastic tab (shown in pictures).

Remove four (4) screws 4.58mm using PH00 Philips screwdriver. Unscrew five (5) other screws shown with PH00 Phillips screwdriver (these will remain in the frame of the fan) The screw shown in the third picture is tucked underneath some wiring. Simply pull the wire up to expose the screw (shown in image).
