Using wire cutters or heavy duty scissors, break off old male clip and remove from fabric. Insert scissors in the space between the strap and the buckle's first loop and cut through. Next, insert scissors in second loop between the strap and the buckle's second loop and cut through. Insert new 1 inch male buckle in existing female buckle. Take strap and insert it from the back side of the buckle, through the top loop. Next, insert the rest of the strap through the bottom loop and pull though.

Thanks for this guide! I tried pulling the strap through the old clip and it wouldn't go through, so I thought I had to cut and re-sew the ends. I am so glad I saw this, saved me a lot of work! Thanks again!

Thank you so much for this! My pup chewed the clip off of my bag less than two weeks after purchase. I was bummed. Went to the Timbuk2 site and all these reviews said I had to cut and resew the ends…. I KNEW there had to be a better way. Took me less than 5 minutes. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
