Can I add bluetooth?

I have a Mid 2009 20" iMac that i would like to add bluetooth to so I can take advantage of a trackpad. Is there a way to do this on this model and where could I source the item from?

Update (09/21/2012)

Appreciate the help guys. I picked this unit up used and didn't know it was the educational model. I'll find a dongle to use.

Most likely your iMac has bluetooth support. Can you give us the last four digits of your serial number so we can tell which iMac model you have.

If you have this model you'll need to get a Bluetooth dongle as rj713 recommends.

Hi, my last 4 digits are K6MH (20inch mid 2009) reconditioned purchase, is this also an educational model and will a standard Bluetooth dongle work?

Chris - You can use one of the supported dongles or add-in the missing parts. We can't leverage the last part of the S/N any more. It's best to do a proper lookup from EveryMac - Lookup

Hi, You can purchase a bluetooth dongle very reasonably. Link provided for some possibilities--others exist. Good luck.

The iMac "Core 2 Duo" 2.0 20-Inch Aluminum (Mid-2009/Education Only) -- which only was available for sale to educational institutions.

2.0 GHz Intel "Core 2 Duo" processor, with two independent processor "cores" on a single silicon chip, a 3 MB shared level 2 cache, a 1066 MHz system bus, 1 GB of RAM (1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM), a 160 GB (7200 RPM) hard drive, a vertically-mounted slot-loading DVD±R DL "SuperDrive", NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics with 128 MB of memory shared with the system, a built-in iSight video camera, and built-in stereo speakers underneath the 20" glossy TFT Active Matrix LCD (1680x1050 native) display.

Connectivity includes four USB 2.0 ports, a Firewire "800" port, built-in AirPort Extreme, and Gigabit Ethernet, as well as a Mini DisplayPort, which supports an external display in "extended desktop" mode.

The education version of this model does not offer built-in Bluetooth
