I recently bought a second hand iphone 4 and noticed its wifi reception is poor. Opened it up tightened the screws (tiny metal part on antenna plate is still there) but still the reception remains poor. The antenna plate screw (1.6 mm philips) next to camera flash is missing. Would that be the cause ? If not what would you suggest. Thank you

check the antenna below... There are 4 "clips" they have to be between the speaker and midframe. You have to change if 1 of them is broken. And on top you have a metal piece from mothboard that have to touch the frame. (something diffrent then the EIM shield)

I just put the earphones on and suddenly wifi works perfectly. Took them off, very weak reception. Does anyone know if that 1.6mm screw is the reason ?

I believe the wifi antenna is the metal plate or am I wrong.
