Replace LCD part with cheaper 3rd party alternative?

Is it possible to replace the LCD display part with a cheaper 3rd party alternative (buy HP 2711x 27" monitor for $259 from Frys.com) and remove it and replace this broken Apple LCD part?

Would the cabling match?
