My charger suddenly short circuited.
My iphone 4 was on charge when my charger went boom and there was no sign of burn or anything on my phone.
I was told there is a problem with the mother board and the IC needs to be changed. Any idea what can be done? How much will a motherboard cost to replace? Or even the IC?
When i connect my phone to the charger there is a charging indication but when I remove the indication still remains. It doesn't charge at all. Please do help me

Have you checked the mother board yet? Check for any SMD components that are charred, check around the power management IC. If would start by replacing the dock connector as well as the battery. The PMIC is a BGA and requires special skills and tools to replace.

The battery is fine. Infact I changed another battery and saw everything works fine. But when I connect the charger it says charging with the indication on top but doesn't charge. When I unplug the charger the indication remains and doesnt go off till the phone is switched off. I was told the motherboard or an IC should be replaced.
