m j fio, "with exclamation mark in a triangle." this is usualy a sign of a bad hard drive. In your case it also sounds like you have a bad battery. Try to charge the iPod on an AC charger. If it does not charge, replace the battery first, use this guide. Once you have power, try to place your iPod either in diagnostic mode or in disk mode. Instruction for that can be found on here. It will also show you what the tests reveal. In diskmode, you can try and see if you can access your hard drive. If you can't it is most likely that you will need a new one. Start with the battery first. Be careful with the battery cable connector, it has a tendency of breaking of the board. Make sure it is still properly connected. Hope this helps, good luck.
