Can I put more than 4gb RAM into my MacBook?

Is it possible to put more than 4gb into my MacBook Unibody?

On the MacBook models this is going to be a 4gb maximum for any model in the past year. The ones with the 8gb max are the MacBook Pro models.

On the chart I referenced it shows the MacBook unibody with 2.26 Ghz and awhite plastic enclosure as being able to use 8GB ram. If that is not the OP's computer he should check the chart for his max ram. Ralph

Solution retenue

Apple says 4 GB but Mactracker says you can install 8 GB of ram. Ralph

but be careful! If apple finds out they void the warranty! and yes the max is 8gb

but if you get caught with more then 4gb they void the warranty

I don't believe Apple voids the warranty for a RAM upgrade on this machine.
