wobbly volume button (rev_11)

Hi guys! my brand new nexus 4 has the volume button a little wobbly... What can I do? do you think the volume button is positioned badly? do you think I could solve disassembling and trying to reposition it?

What exactly do you mean by "wobbly"? Like it's going to fall out?

no the button is firm in his hole.

but if I stroke with a finger, the button moves a bit up and down ... it works but I'm afraid that with the time I have problems...

What do you think? it's better if I post a video?

I'd like to see a video, as I'm still not sure what kind of movement you are speaking of. I will tell you that the button you press on the outside is just a cap that sits on top of the hardware buttons that are attached to the logic board via a flex cable. The caps usually have tabs that extend beyond the cut out to keep the button from falling out. If you were to remove the case, the cap would come with it. The cap could fall out completely, and the buttons underneath would still function. I don't think you have anything to worry about, but posting a video would make me more secure in my assertion.

I arrived to the same conclusion... but it is not my field I decided to ask to those in the know :)

I thought to disassemble it, but then I read that the rubber ring around the entire smartphone, which contains the buttons, it also contains the antennas! and if I remove badly, I risk to damaging the antennas... it's true??

here you are the video :)

I'll admit that either your volume rocker is smaller than the one on my nex4, or the the cutout is bigger. I don't think there is an issue, but I have almost no play on mine. Using ifixit's very own teardown guide, the volume rocker is located on the back cover. With a safe open pry tool, and patience you should be able to avoid damaging anything when carefully removing the back cover. Vue éclatée du Nexus 4

Following the steps through step 8 will get you where you need to be.

I might try... but... I don't know.. I'm afraid to do damage... :p

Anyway I'am becoming convinced that it is really the internal tabs of the button! during the assembly maybe the tab is released from the block...

I bought 2 nexus 4s! one for me, one for a friend. and in fact his n4 not had this problem ... his button did not move at all!

although it is not the only difference I noticed!

the vibration in my n4 is slightly weaker, and screen colors tend to gray (more than the other n4), the colors of my are a little less saturated...
