Verticle Banding LCD Issues.

Block Image

Is this the:

1. Video Card

2. Logic Board

3. LCD Panel

4. LCD Inverter

5. Cables

Any guesses at this stage, as I don't have the machine in front of me at the moment to test with an outside monitor or run hard ware test. Apparently the don't move and are on the screen permanently. thanks in advance :)

Could be the data cable, but since it is only one stripe, and it is fixed on the display, my guess at this time is the LCD panel is faulty. Looks a bit like TAB error.

What is a TAB error unclear of what that is, exactly. Could you explain?

On a LCD screen there are roughly 10-12 "data" tabs located on the top of the lcd. Those communicate vertical information from the board to the glass. There are also 3-4 "scan" tabs located on the side that switch on which horizontal line to activate. If those come loose it could create that issue. Of course you do want to check your cable as well as using an external monitor to make sure.It does not look like an inverter problem and a bad logic board is unlikely as well

Connecting to an external monitor would rule the VGU (VGC) in or out. If it's out you're back to cables and other parts which you would have to examine to test. Some things you can't fix by looking at a picture.
