Completely unresponsive even after replacing logic board

Last weekend my MBP stopped working, apparently for no reason. A quick trip to the Genius Bar and some corrosion on the logic board behind the right fan was found. He diagnosed it as a logic board problem (loose capacitors in the corroded area). A quick trip to ifixit and I had a new board.

Pre replacement the only things working we're the mag safe and battery indicator lights. Post replacement it is completely dead. No lights, no response to SMC reset, power button press, nothing.

Go over all your connectors again. You've just completed an advanced DIY many times connectors that "looked/seemed/thought" connected were later found out not to have been square and snapped in, ribbon cables not inserted fully or upside down, cams not locked.

I quadruple checked everything and removed the logic board finally reconnecting each cable one at a time, when the keyboard cable was reattached the issue started again.

I tried reconnecting my original logic board (having cleaned up the corrosion and seeing no board damage) and the same thing happened again. As soon as the keyboard was attached the light on the MagSafe connector would not light up. Upon further examination (AKA complete dis-assembly) it looks like the real damage was to the keyboard (I can see a water spot but i still have no idea how it got wet).

A quick trip to eBay and a gutted MPB for parts later and I'm good to go.
