How do you get it apart in the first place?
Just got mine and I can't understand how you got the black base to separate from the white tower. I'm stumped at step one!

Taylor Barcroft, I would check on this teardown. Pay particular attention to the steps outlined on the right hand side. Follow the link in step 2. Hope this helps, good luck.

Theres a little more of an opening on the underside of the black base cover where the power cable goes into. There's enough of a space for butter knife tip to get it started. I prefer the metal spudger or metal anything, its on there pretty good. Just be careful the power connector is in that spot so be gentle and don't go to deep and break a clip. The other spot to watch for is where the light is going to deep could severe that wire. Other than that all the other spots are safe and you can be a little mean with it, the cover is pretty resilient you might mark it up where you decide to pry but it is on the bottom where no one sees it.
