rice trick with iPhone?

because of a slip and slide incident my iphone speakers dont work at all. but heres the odd thing my iphone never shut off after it happen so i turned it off and put it in a bag of rice. other than the speaker it works perfectly. i just cant call anyone..... the phone had a case mate case on it and a screen protector. i only sent one text on it after it happened, will the rice trick still work? i didnt turn it off until after i got home

Anna, not sure what the "slip and slide incident" entailed but if it with submerged in any liquid, the "rice trick" is only basic fist aid. It will not fix your phone nor will it prevent any corrosion. For that you will have to disassemble your phone and clean everything with 90%+ isopropyl alcohol. When you say that your speaker does not work, try a head set and see if that makes a difference.
