New Transcendent 1TB External Storage not detecting when plugged in.

I have purchased Transecdent 1 TB External Storage device 2days ago,it is a brand new one, Its a USB 3.0 port Here is the full description of my device

My PC was 6years old one with Usb 2.0 ports cabinet front ports are not all working.

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate

For the past 6months I am getting a blue screen error repeatedly[may be its because of upgrading my RAM from 1GB to 2GB(1GB+1GB)]stating "dumping physical memory counting from 1 to 100" and rebooting.

So, I have removed the RAM as it might be the problem. I have a doubt that one of my RAM slots went wrong or completely dead.

I have also tested the RAM with MEMTEST software it doesn't stated any error.

I have also tried the external device in another PC its working fine, I know the problem is with my PC,Board, power, but not sure which one is yelling me.

Please help me.

I need to transfer my data to External Storage

OK, lets backup here a sec

Your system needs repair and you want to make a backup onto the external HD. But you can't as the USB 2.0 ports are not working on your system.

If that is the case you'll need to find a way to remove your systems HD and place it in a case or use a cable adapter to connect to a second system which has a working set of USB ports (USB 3.0 being better). Once you can just copy all of the data over to your external HD en-mass.

After you copy it over you could try Windows repair options on your systems HD while you have it on the second system as well as defrag the drive.

As for Blue Screens

Yes hardware is often a cause (HD, RAM & Logic bd) that is failing, but software can be too! Have you added and boards or apps, or updated your OS in any way?

What you said is correct but 2 of my USB 2.0 ports on the back side of my cabinet are working fine for my two pen drives [Transcend 16GB and Kingston 8GB] and for other external drives are also working fine, I recently observed that Sony 8GB pen drive which is one my friends is not working at all and works in other system.

One month back I also connected a USB 3.0 port External Transcend 1TB Storage device and it worked fine.

But now when I am connecting my new Transcend 1TB,the power is blinking its running, its showing in the device manager and not showing in the disk management,my computer.

Coming to the Blue Screen error I have changed the RAM as I said,so I have removed that RAM and using my old initial RAM.

I have removed my processor and replaced it with another one still the error repeated as usual, again I replaced it with my old processor Core 2 Duo

As you have some ports that are working I suspect you may have blown the power fuse links on the non-working ports. Without more detail on the system and the USB services I can't offer you more here on fixing them. You could get a interface card if you have a spare slot and often these cards have a few USB ports for internal use. So the bad port cables can be moved over to the card.

Getting back to your HD issue. Have you tried using one of the working USB ports? It also sounds like you have a lot of external storage here running of USB connections. I tend not to use USB 2.0 connections for storage as it tends to be too slow. If you are running your OS off of the USB drive that could also explain the Blue screens. I would strongly recommend upgrading the USB ports you use for storage to USB 3.0 or better yet use eSATA which gives you SATA III (6.0 Gb/s) speed if you want your HD's externally. Frankly, I like my HD's internally as much as I can and only have my backup HD's externally.

Be careful you don't wear out your memory sockets and make sure your modules are populated in matched pairs. I so often see issues when two different manufactures (or spec'ed) modules are used in a bank which messes up the system. Double check your systems documentation and use the correct or better modules and if you can use all the same though out.

Sure Dan, I'll keep in mind about what you told about my issue,

I just changed my Power supply to check where the problem,to trace the problem I have stated with replacing the SMPS,luckily I had no issues anymore[I am not getting any blue screen errors and also my External HD is detecting fine] I have changed my internal Hard disk to another CPU and backed up my data into the External storage then I formatted my internal Hard disk totally, after installing a fresh OS into it my external HD is working with an ease without any issue.
