Trackpad works but won't click

Ok so I recently had problems with this laptop not dragging or clicking properly. I bought a NEW trackpad and installed it. The left and right clicks feel smooth and make the correct sound now, but they don't register a click at all.

I tried adjust the screw in both directions while clicking and no position seems to work for it. I have it set as tap to click, drag, etc and that works but not a physical click.

It also does not click if I boot the macbook into the 'option' menu and try clicking there, so I figured it was a hardware problem but now that I have a new trackpad I don't see what else could be doing it??

Help! :)

After trying everything I could and searching all over the place, I found this guy with an identical issue:

He also replaced the trackpad and still could not register push down clicks. He said he could if he pushed really hard in the center (which I tried and it does click if I push extremely hard in the center of the trackpad!), and then he found out he had been sent a defective trackpad (bad dome switch).

I'm gonna see if I can get this one replaced and try again. May God help you if you come across this problem and you're looking for a solution, because it is was not easy trying to find a solution!
