I have replaced my phone lcd before. However, this time when I installed everything the screen illuminates normally except I cannot interact with the screen. I cannot touch any part of the screen, there's no response. The bottom 2 touch buttons work the home button works, the power button works, and the volume works too! Please help.

It sounds like your digitizer has gone bad or is not plugged in. I would make sure that all of your connectors are secured all the way and from there if it doesn't work I would return the part and try a replacement.
