So i managed to get everything spot on with first attempt of screen replacement, flipped the glass down onto the digitiser, pushed the glass down by the corners and the glass cracked in the right hand corner.
Any tips for putting the glass on perfectly? Thanks

The plastic bezel and the aluminium frame if bent needs realigned . Can you post a pic of the iPad corners

Ive removed the bezel and ordered a new one as was a bit hacked when i tried to get into the ipad. The metal casing is a bit bent i think if you see top left hand corner pic. Would explain why its not sotting flush on the lft side? If it is this how do i bend it back into shape and make it look decent? Thanks again..
Make sure the mental frame is not bent in so the screen won't fit proporly if it is and make sure there is no excess glass stuck to the frame or it will crack the screen when placed down

When doing iPad digitizer replacements, please remember to either use only plastic tools to remove the broken glass or you will likely need to replace the plastic bezel due to damages.
If the corners of the aluminum frame are bent at all, you will likely need to reshape them so the new glass can fit in properly.
If the plastic bezel is not an OEM part, it will likely not fit 100% true, resulting in one corner of the glass alway sticking up a bit. Locally we see this from other repair shops.
Most important is the quality of adhesive used resealing the new digitizer to the aluminum frame. If the quality of advise isn't OEM or better, the glass will begin to lift requiring you to adhere the digitizer with cement.

Maybe its a mixture of all? When i did the first reset of glass i didnt push down to hard and it just cracked. It does feel a little flimsy i must admit :(
Do you mean the bezel or the actual ipad housing frame. Ive tried reinstalling the glass four times now but i always seem to be one corner out of flush :(
Filing the teeth of a pair of vice grips, and being very careful, you can work out the slight bends in the aluminum frame, as shown in the link posted above by con.
