iMac 17" 1.83GHz Core Duo (A1173) - Early...

Buongiorno,

sto riparando il mio vecchio iMac 17" 1.83GHz Core Duo (A1173) - Early 2006.

Come ultima operazione dovrei trovare un display compatibile, perchè quello originale presenta righe orizzontali. (se collego l'imac ad un monitor esterno però è tutto ok, quindi non è un problema di logic board).

Esiste qualcosa?

Grazie infinite per l'aiuto.

As a last step I should find a compatible display, because the original one has horizontal lines. (when I connect my imac to an external monitor, however it's all ok, so it's not a problem of the logic board).

so che esiste un kit come da guida presente qui in iFixit:

iMac Intel 17" UniMac V4 Adapter Kit

Io personalmente mi sono reso conto che la spesa non vale l'impresa e ci sono alcuni componenti che non mi sembrano facili da sostituire.

Nel mio caso personale, l'iMac ce l'ho ancora e lo utilizzo in ambito musicale, con l'aggiunta di un vecchio monitor aggiuntivo che ovvia alle fastidiose righe (che all'inizio erano poche ed ora si sono moltiplicate!)

Monitor sostituito con un Philips da 17'' con 110 euro.. Ma ora é più sottile.. Dove trovo stecche per fissarlo? Grazie di cuore a chi mi risponde..

Honestly I've tryed to put the display of an old IMAC G5 on this Imac 4,1, but without success: the Imac doesn't start anymore (just with that display attached).

I've seen that there's a kind of "adapter" for "non imac" display (or something like that). Do you think could be working with the display of the Imac G5?

Your machine uses a mini-DVI port; DVI output2; VGA output2; S-video and composite video output2: http://support.apple.com/kb/SP35

... I don't think we're talking about the same thing. I wish to change the internal display of the IMac

Use the external port to test the GPU on the logic board. If you get a good external signal, you know it's the display that needs to be replaced. Replace it only with the exact same model number. Do not try to adapt something else.
