How to sync to a different computer?

The laptop that i originally synced my iPhone to died. how can i update my iPhone to os 4 without wiping it. i will be using a different laptop. IBM thinkpad r50, 1.4ghz pentium m, 768mb ram, 20gb hdd. please help me! :)

If you can access the HDD of the old computer, grab the itunes library from it (if you can, include the music, if not then just the itunes library.itl file and replace the current one on ur computer with it. Voila!
