Motherboard issues won't restore

So I have an iPad 2 and an iPad mini which seem to have similar problems. Both are recognized by iTunes as being in recovery mode. The problem is that when iTunes tries to upload the latest firmware to the iPad iTunes just hangs on waiting for iPad. Both iPads boot up to the Apple logo and show an empty status bar underneath the logo and that's it.

I've put both logic boards under a microscope and there are no obvious signs of damage. I was hoping that someone on here may have solved a similar problem or at least had some trouble shooting directions. I've tried multiple PCs and doc cables but no luck.

So do I...exact same problem...otherwise my iPad 2 looks like the day I bought it...not a scratch anywhere...so I am inclined to think that a hardware failure is the root cause...instead I seem to suspect that when the latest version of IOS came out...might be related...not sure if my iPad 2 was configured to automatically upgrade it's firmware or not or if this was even an option...otherwise, I am stuck with a boat anchor now...thanks

Hello Brian, you can try a different connector port from another ipad that works, but I'm not sure if that will be the problem, it's hard to know!

Good luck dude, keep us posted if you want
