PLEASE HELP!..don't work all the time but sometimes does

I have a kenmore elite he washer.sometimes it won't power on and sometimes it will.I've unplugged it multiple times trying to reset n fix it.I also did the tapping thing on top left back.no go but then sometimes I go in and it will power on and all the lights light up but when I turn nob for wash selection it does absolutely nothing. Can u please help me?I've also tried the nsew on the buttons n it don't always work

Options

kerriniehuas,start by running the diagnostics test and see if it gives you an F code. The control must be in the OFF state before pressing the touch-pad sequence to start the test.

Starting the test mode

Close the door.

Press the Control On button.

Select the DRAIN/SPIN cycle.

Select NO SPIN by pressing the SPIN SELECT button, as needed.

Push Prewash Option button four (4) times within five (5) seconds. C:00 will show in the display.

NOTE: If Model does not have PREWASH Mode as an option, press RINSE/HOLD.

If the Starting procedure fails, push PAUSE/CANCEL button. Then repeat the starting sequence.

Test Program Control during Execution

To advance to the next step of the test procedure, push Prewash Option button two (2) times.

I guess I won't be able to do that cause now it won't even power on for me to make any type of selection. I've only been able to get it to power on twice in last 3 weeks but will not do anything after that.

another thing I noticed since this started is that even if washer won't power on, if its plugged in you can faintly see lights lit up on display board and when I unplug it about 3-5 seconds later the lights slowly dim away.

it could be that the machine control would need to be replaced. The official trouble shooting sections recommends the following steps for no power on:"

1. Check the line voltage and for blown fuses.

2. Check for voltage going to Central Control Unit (CCU) by listening for a click in the CCU when unit is plugged in. If no click replace CCU.

3. Unplug the unit before continuing.

4. Check continuity of line cord and line filter.

5. Check harness connections to CCU.

6. Check touch-pad/LED assembly.

Mone sometimes starts other times wont,there areally a lot of people in here tat have tunnel vision start by unplugging machine, take top off then push all wires into plugs they come lose after awaile,bet it works for u.

Yes Steve I tried that too to no avail.I just ended up buying a used washer that's newer than mine for cheaper than what mine would cost to repair.thanx for your help
