Why is my Kindle not connecting to the wi-fi?

The Kindle Fire has a newer technology that does not allow for it to connect to older routers. The only way to remedy this issue is to replace your router or use a public source that utilizes a newer router.

Check your other devices to see if they are able to connect. If they are it is not the router that is the issue. Sometimes if you are not in range of the router, the device will not connect. Make sure you are in range of your router so it will connect.

Airplane mode turns off all data services. If this function is on, you will not be able to connect to Wi-Fi. Make sure it is off to connect to a Wi-Fi source.
