Only works in the charger
My sony tap 11 so connects with charger. When you remove the charger it off immediately.

It seems the battery went AWOL, thou is not that difficult to dissamble the Tap 11, the most tricky part is the ribbon that attaches the screen to the mainboard/battery, there's a video of Sony itself and from a repair mate that shows a step by step dissasembly, the battery should be around $60 - $70 USD

I had a similar problem. Just tinker with the power settings and it should start to work
