Mike Lloyd, follow this guide to get to the logic board. the charging port is soldered to the board. You will have to unsolder the old one and resolder a new port.

In what way is it damaged?
Did it just stop working? Or do you see something broken?
If there is nothing visible broken, first make sure it is not the charging cable. It is not in common for those to break.

the small metal piece is broken off inside.
