Why are three of my monitor ports not working.

My desktop has six different ports for connecting monitors (2 HDMI, 2 VGA, 2 DVI) One set of these works perfectly fine, while the other set doesn't work at all. I have two monitors that only work with VGA, and I'd like to try and fix this problem before just getting new monitors.
