For your machine specifically (as we add guides often), check back soon ... Very soon (oh the suspense!)

Edit 12/16/09: And here it is (the directions are exactly the same for the hard drive on all Mid 2009 Unibody 15" MacBook Pros)!!!

That guide seems to be it though- there's not a real difference between the early and mid 2009- am i correct?

par

The early 2009 has a two-piece lower case with a battery/HD access door, and the mid 2009 has a one-piece lower case. Once inside it's not too different, but there are more screws on the outside. And I have no clue why the vote-down...wasn't me!

Okay- thanks for the info, but the poster should be able to use this guide, correct? Once he opens it up, it'll pretty much be straightforward with the guide.

It depends on how prone to improv the poster is. The difference between just flipping a lever and removing 10 screws, and removing 1 bracket screw vs. removing 2 bracket screws, is no big difference to you or me, but it could be a big difference to a novice (I have no clue what the poster's skill level is, though). I really do appreciate your giving the closest answer that is currently available though!
