5C constantly searching signal

Hey there.

I have a iphone 5c, thats as many other iphones, keeps searching for signal, and doesn´t even come up with the no sim card warning, with no sim card in.

Iphone tried resetting it, connected it with itunes and all the other tricks.

I read somewhere, that heating it up with a blow dryer on the back, might get the signal back. And it did, but after an hour or so, it started searching for signal again.

So now I know it might be a loose soldering, but my question is were and what do I resolder?

Hi Steffan

I also have the same issue and I'm assuming that like me it's not the sim reader the antenna or your time and date settings if the batteries disconnected the iPhone reverts to 1970 that's the most common cause and manual adjustment or connecting to wifi usually fixes that side but after extensive research have discovered it is actually the baseband chip on the main logic board causing the issue and trying a restore or update will only lock your phone to iTunes you will get an error message (error-1)until the baseband chip is replaced/repaired. I also have read that you can sometimes reflow them using a hot air station or some people have put them in an oven etc and apparently had some success but however check out micro soldering (process used to solder)or baseband chip on YouTube and decide for yourself I have had a quote today for repair @$85aus parts and labour. So my advice find someone that does micro soldering and get it replaced. Save yourself the hassle of permanent damage to your logic board hope it helps and Good luck. Deano
