Broken Screen, can I use the iPhone 6 Plus display to repair?

Hello,

I just purchased the iPhone 6s Plus and cracked the screen. It is so new there is no info about it or any replacement displays for sale yet. Could I purchase a iPhone 6 Plus display and install it on my 6s plus or would it not be compatible? I understand the 6s has force touch and the 6 doesn't so maybe that affects the screen. If anyone has an idea as to what I should do please let me know.

Pity Man, as far as I know it does work. I'm looking for a 6S screen with 3D touch to do some study. If possible, I could like to buy your broken screen. Please contact me at: jasonlveva@gmail.com

6 plus screens have 4 connecter pins for it to work while the 6s plus’s has 3 connector pins. Due to this there is no way a 6 plus screen could ever work on a 6s plus’s however the reverse is unknown

No, and according to unconfirmed sources, iPhone 6s displays are not replaceable altogether, likely because of 3D Touch calibration issues.

Sorry man no. The screen are not interchangeable or user friendly change. Apple Store. With new findings there is a rubber seal also that will be destroy as soon the new iPhone is opened you crash your phone in a day?

Hi to answer your Question I have just made this very mistake got the 6 plus screen to put on my 6s plus took the phone apart only to realise that not only is there 4 connectors on the 6plus as aposed to the 6s which only has 3 the connector that goes to the touch function is not the same shape I tried for hours to get it to fit but it just doesn't fit. So now I've got the hassle of sending it back not to mention the time and trouble I had taking the screen off changing home button over then back again then putting the original screen back on only to find that my finger print no longer works for some reason and a small dark shadow in the corner of the screen has appeared Think carefully before you do this repair Regards Prinny76

I feel that they're overselling this 3D Touch. It's just force touch, be realistic Apple.

Alright, prasadjalal. Doing things as cheaply as possible, usually ends poorly. At the very least, it'll work for a short period, and then you have new problems. I understand it's frustrating, after you just spent money on your new phone. But, you'll probably want to spend the money on a quality product

Can't say for certain, yet. Before i6S/i6S+ release. There were a lot of photos and videos of people putting i6S LCD/digitizer assemblies on i6 phones. They lit up, and had a gear logo on them. So are they directly compatible? Hard to say, you could be the first one to find out. Parts are easily accessible at many repair shops

I don't want to just waste money on the 6 plus screen. I'm trying to do this for as cheap as possible. I'm not gonna get it if I don't know if it's exactly identical and will work seamlessly. Does anyone know if the two displays are identical in specs and internal wiring/connections? Is the force touch intergrated in the display or in the backing//is it on the backing?

No, completely different, will not work so don't waste time on it.

Actually I had this problem I tried to swap my iPhone 6s screen with my 6 with no luck the connectors are completely different t and the 6s has 3 connectors (digitiser, LCD and 3D Touch) so to answer your question, no it cannot be done

I just ordered the wrong part for my sisters 6s plus, the ordinary 6 plus screen connectors are different and largely due to the fancy home button also the camera won't stay in its spot. So if it's a 6s plus get the correct screen

I have an I phone 6, digitizer has 3 plugs which phone is it? I ordered the digitizer supposedly for the one I have A 1688 but got the digitizer with the 4 plugs. Which one do I need?

Okay the front display with everything assembled on it has multiple front panel ribbon cables. There are two definitely at least, the wide one for digitizer, the half width one for LCD, the side one for home button extension cable and the last one for front camera ribbon cable assembly.

Here are some ways to identify which screen you got:

iPhone 6, There are no side screw on the top right right next to the front camera glass hole.

iPhone 6s, basically the opposite of above

If it's a iPhone 6 screen with all 4 plugs, you most likely ordered the screen with the included optional front camera assembly that contains the earpiece speaker and front camera pre-assembled / pre-installed already for easy installation.

Make sure you transfer your old home button to retain touch ID as the home button is linked to the logic board of the iPhone 6.

If you buy the iPhone 6 screen without the extras it should come with two plugs only. One for LCD and the other for digitizer.

Thank you for the quick response but I am still lost. Yes the digitizer that was shipped out to me has 4 plugs and it has it all, speaker, camera, etc. Even if I took that off and transfer the old parts, the remaining plugs do not match the sockets on the board. :( ):

Applw makes it this way so you cannot unless you get real technical with it and start to Sauter and Microq surgery the phones and components beyond know every single phone has to have their own digitize it and glass digitizer and glass Hass to be the same
