Horizontal Line with Blurring Below

My Vizio 3D tv developed a horizontal line across the bottom third of the screen, and the screen below that blurs and clears every few seconds.

I've unplugged it, let it sit for a few days, factory reset it, and it's still doing it.

It's a 50 inch M series razor LED.

I have the exact same issue. It was one line, now 2. Both visible at all times and switching from clear to blurry every 3-4 secs.

I bought a vizio 48" model D48N-EO and I have the same problem. The top half of my screen is blurry and there is a clear line where it changes. I have even made a warranty claim with Vizio and they replaced my TV yesterday. It worked for 30 minutes and even the brand new TV is doing the exact same thing. I am not sure what to do

Also, by any chance do you guys all have Direct TV as your provider? Just wondering if vizio doesn't work well with them. I have had my direct tv box replaced and hooked my box up to a different TV to make sure that wasn't the problem.

Alec, horizontal lines are usually an indication of a bad LCD panel. check the tab bonding to the driver board and see if they are still properly placed and check for corrosion.

I'm not sure I have the expertise to go about doing that. Any idea how much a fix of this nature, if this is in fact what is wrong with it, would be?

Tab bonding repair is very specialuzed and not a whole lot of places do it. It would probably cheaper to find a replacement from a different TV same model. I am sure you could check it. It is not as complicated as it sounds take the back off of your TV and post picture of it with your question. One image should be from the front with the line showing.

It is a refurbished tv, I have to return it. There is no way to fix a bad led panel, "at home" you can't reset or adjust for this kind of fix. It's simply broken. If there is a way to fix this, I am not an electronics tv repair service person. So I have to return the TV for exchange...wish there was a quick way to fix it......jm
