I was given a dell 1525 that was parted out and I noticed a symbol in the battery slot that looks like a SD card but the slot it points to is not the slandered SD slot. My question is, what is this slot? I'm only interested because I'm looking at getting another 1525 to fix up.

Here is a link to the Inspiron 1525 service manual. Scroll to p43. I think that this is what you're describing. It says that it's a SIM card slot.
