Need help identifying this capacitor

Block Image

Can anyone please help me identify this capacitor on a 2012 A1278 Macbook Pro 13" (non retina), its near the LCD/LVDS connector. As you can see it has been shorted and is causing the LCD to display no picture, just back light (GPU is fine as it works through an external monitor).

Thanks in advance, any help will be greatly appreciated!

nickpit, it's not a capacitor. This is just to answer your question, not to diagnose your logicboard. The component is reference designator L9004 which is a 120 Ohm 1.5Amp ferrite bead, or ferrite choke, in a 0402 package. A Murata BLM15EG121SN1D will be a perfect match.

Thanks for the info!! Exactly what I was looking for. Do you think it appears to be shorted? The solder on one side is obviously missing and there's burn marks around it. If so would it be worth replacing? Cheers, Nick.

Not sure what shorted it out. The part is somewhere in the $0.20 range, so get a dozen and see what happens.

I can’t believe I had the same question! This thing shorted out from touching the clip that flips over and secures the LCD connector. Ordering the part now, but just curious, did yours work after replacing it? Everything works on the laptop, except I get no picture on the LCD.
