Screen does not respond to finger touch, but responds to the stylus

I took my phone/phablet to be fixed, and the phone company here in Iceland said they could not fix it, but they failed to realize that it does respond to the stylus pen. As I am not quite sure they know all about what they are doing, I would like to inquire if anyone has had that problem and knows if there is a solution. I was told there was a little water damage inside where the electricity port is, but it charges fine.

Most likely a digitizer failure. It would make sense that it needs to be replaced

So that it is possible? My service provider basically told me my phone was garbage, but I had a feeling they just did not want to because it was still under warranty.

It absolutely is possible. There's a couple of methods you could use, or get a repairman to do for you. Just a digitizer replacement is possible, and cheaper. However, most people don't do it, and even more don't do a very good job. There's also digitizer/LCD replacement. Which is much easier. But a little more costly. I'll list some things below, for how to do the latter

Thank you so much! I am, as they say, eternally grateful! I looked at several how-to videos on youtube, and then practiced on my old, completely dead Note 1, and did fine. Going to replace the glass and camera cover on my husbands SIII next, and then I believe I will feel confident enough to fix my note4 on my own :D
