Phone was bent, now will not power on

Hello.

I was asked to take a look at an iPhone 6 that became bent and will now not power on.

I've opened the case, removed the heat shield from the display cables, removed the display assembly, battery bracket, and SIM.

I've gently propped up the logic board to prevent any contact with the bent case.

Unfortunately, even with the lightning connector and batter connector still attached, it shows no signs of life with a hard reset, power button, plug into USB or with a wall charger.

Thoughts?

Hi and thank you for responding. It is not recognized by iTunes. The angle of bend is not dramatic. My thinking was to eliminate any stress or short. The owner would like to retrieve the photos if possible.

Is it recognised by iTunes? might just be the screen that has been damaged as even tiny cracks to the lcd can render it useless?

If the phone isn't recognised or showing any signs of life it could have caused tiny cracks on the logic board

You could try putting the phone in DFU mode which can fix an unresponsive device.

Connect the iPhone to a pic or Mac and open iTunes.

Press and hold both the home button and the power/sleep button at the same time.

After about 10 seconds, let go of the power/sleep button but continue holding the home button.

iTunes should detect an iPhone in recovery mode. From there you can restore the iPhone.

As for recovering pictures you could try exiting DFU mode by holding both the power/sleep buttons until the apple logo appears (if it has made the phone respond again) or you'll have to do a restore which wipes everything on the device (might need their Apple ID to do so not sure)

Quick note when the device is in DFU mode the screen will not show anything you'll only know the iPhone is working when iTunes recognises it

My concern with this is that I would have to re-close the phone, right? I'm afraid that, in doing so, I'm re-creating the condition that caused it to break in the first place. It's only a slight bend, but clearly it caused a problem.

What are your thoughts on this? Thank you.

If you don't want to risk re-assembly could make sure it's all connected but take care to avoid the logic board etc falling out and try it that way

Hi. I tried DFU mode - which I've used on previous models, so I know a bit about - but it did not revive the phone. There is no response on the screen, nor the PC. In fact, the phone hasn't made a sound or vibration since I received it.

Where to go from here?
