Most likely the power supply but take the back off, here's how: Remplacement du panneau arrière d'un iMac G5 17" modèle A1058
You should see two CUDA buttons middle of the board slightly to the left. Ones a reset and one a restart. Plug it in and hit those buttons. Now there should be 4 diagnostic LEDS in the center of the logic board. Please tell us which ones lit up.

Thank you. I removed 4 screws holding the display and looked under there. There was a major connector top center that had come unplugged. I reseated the connector and it powered up fine. I had it shipped to the Philippines as I retired here and brought it along for a back up. They really toss the boxes around and it must have come loose. Sun Zahu in the art of war stated: the solution lies in first identifying the problem. Those words have defined my life as a HVAC service tech my whole life. Thank you for your prompt reply. I will be doing all my own repairs now that I am retired and will avail myself of this sites services more I am sure.
