iPad 4 bent back cover

Vandals broke in and decided to stomp on the iPads. I am hoping to repair the devices but am unsure of the feasibility of the repair. The devices turn on (top 1/8 of the screen is lit) showing me that they are functional, but the devices are bent. I've "unbent" the devices in reverse to see if it's repairable. I spoke with a colleague and they said it's a moot point since the new LCD and digitizer will not operate properly due to the bend. Does anyone have experience something like this?

Hi, I've had plenty of experience with horribly damaged iPads from customers. You really don't want to invest hours and hours trying to bend these back. I've made this mistake too many times costing myself hours of time I could invest in other projects. I would just replace the entire back housing (get used on ebay if you want to save time installing the small parts).

The problem with doing it this way with a bent frame is the new digitizer will never sit flush and most likely will lift overtime. If you're doing it for a customer most likely it'll keep coming back for you to redo it.
