iPAD LCD Backlight Bleeding Problem

Hi All,

This is Mohamed from Egypt, I got the iPAD 3G from U.S 2 weeks ago, a friend of mine in U.S got it when he came back to Egypt

The Device is amazing, but what is annoying me is the backlight bleeding, i can see it clear in dark room when i switch to Photos Applications or Watch moivie, i can see the bleeding spots in the corners, they are not noticed somehow except a big one on the bottom left corner which made me hate the device

also i can see the bleeding represented in a very thin line across the screen in the bottom part

I am really angry because of this, i can't return it to USA at the time being

I am asking if there is a fix for this problem, i beleive this is not LCD Problem, it maybe assembley problem for the screen

Please Help

Well, it looks lke you have a defective screen. If you were to take it to Apple, then they would probably fix it for free. If you have no access to any Apple store, then you might want to consider replacing the LCD itself with one of these.

I believe it's an original part, but i'm not completely sure.

Is there a way to fix this, bleeding usually is not a screen problem, it is a leakage of backlight from the corners due to assembly, can I fix this myself

The LCD itself has no problems

Mohamed from Egypt,

my friend, please do not Jihad the ipad. bleeding it will not kill it.

Kidding my friend,

when you say Bleeding, are you saying there are areas on your screen that look like dried water spot areas or something, like where a line has been left behind from where it got wet ?

if this is the case then you can try this, but, i must warn you if you dont do it with the gentlest of touch and do it the way the guide tell you to do it, you will crack the front glass.

So you have been warned. take a blow dryer, and warm the black or white colored trim take the glass off and see if you can clean the back side of the glass off with a mild cut windex, lay it on a flat surface and be very very very gentle no pressure, because I promise you will crack the glass it is very thin and i have replaced at least 200 of them and i still crack them on occasion. don't clean the digitizer screen with windex. make sure it is cold when you do it. Watch several short You tube videos of people showing you how to remove the glass without breaking it.

Clean the digitizer with Distilled water and a lint free cloth. also your going to have to do it in a very dust free area no wind or fans. you will end up taking it off and on 50 times because of a piece of dust will keep getting in there and you will swear you had it totally clean. the best way to do it is to do it in the bathroom right after some one has taken a hot shower the moisture will take all the particles of dust to the floor and you will have the closest thing to a clean room there is.

if it is still cloudy, then you need to just buy and replace both the front glass, the outer bezel and the digitizer. buy it in one piece off of ebay. or go to the apple store if it is under warranty it will be free
