60D Won't Switch Off!?! Can I clean the switch?

My 60D won't turn off unless I use auto power off or remove the battery. The on off switch had just stopped working.

Is there anyway to clean the switch without sending my camera into the shop... I'm traveling and need my camera.

Any help is much appreciated.

My camera is about 4 years old with no previous issues. I've never dropped it or spilt any liquids on or near it.
