I have a galaxy s not sure the make but model says sch i500 so I've tried everything to get IT to turn on and IT won't do anything unless it's plugged in then only the battery indicater light comes on what do I do

Could it be a broken battery? I had a galaxy s3 with broken battery connectors and it did a similar thing

my phone Samsung galaxy I9000 do not restart completely and sometimes enter into aloop orestart this occur after software update by correct software.
