Hi,

What is wrong with the Wifi?

Have you checked in Device Manager to see that it is working OK?

What OS is installed in your desktop?

The OS is Windows XP

Hi,

Have you checked in Device Manager (go to Start > Control panel > Device manager) that the WLAN network adapter (listed under Network Adapters) is working correctly?

If there is a red cross listed next to the WLAN entry, right click on the entry and select 'enable' then see if your wireless works.

If there is a yellow explanation mark next to the entry, right click on the entry and select Properties check the staus of the device and see if updating the drivers restores the function.

If there is no WLAN (or wireless ) entry at all restart your PC and go into the BIOS area and see if there is a WLAN enable/disable option listed there.

Here is a link to the drivers for your PC. Ensure that you select Windows XP as your OS. Scroll down to Driver - Network , click on the + sign then locate the wireless driver download applicable to which type of wireless device that you have as listed in Device manger. It will either be HP Wireless or Belkin wireless. Click on the download button to download the driver to your PC so that you can install it.

I tried that but it might just use Ethernet for internet

par

Hi, Not quite sure what you mean but disconnect the ethernet cable from the PC and see if it will connect to the wireless. If the wireless is OK in Device Manager it should connect but if it doesn't go to Control Panel > Network & Sharing and use the Troubleshooter to find the problem

To overclock a CPU the easiest way is if there are any options i the bios. But that is usually not the case with laptops and prebuild desktops. If you want to overclock then it is best to build your PC yourself and choose motherboards and CPU's that have those options. The PC you mention is a typical office PC. You have better chances with a Gaming PC.

Otherwise there is sometimes the possibility to do overclocking with software. You would have to google for that or go to forums that are specialized in overclocking.

Hi @macharrow73

To add to @bearl answer, here is a link to the BIOS settings available for your desktop. As you can see there are no options to either overclock the CPU or the integrated video graphics adapter if you thought of doing this also.
