Wall mounting

How would one go about mounting a pair of really old wooden skis to the wall in my house?

I would rather not drill holes, but I would consider some sort of adhesive.

Thanks

Frank

Update

I'm going to go with dry wall hangars with screws and metal bands around skis. I do not so much worry about the wall since a drywall repair is relatively simple. I do not want to drill through the skis.

Thanks everyone

what's wrong with this question? why the -1 score?

This question was probably voted down because it is somewhat off-topic. This forum is about hardware repair and making devices last longer. While you could argue that you're giving renewed life to your skis by turning them into a decoration, this does not really constitute repair, hence the downvote.

Thank you. I would agree, however I received and email explaining that you can ask about anything, not just Macs. Take a look at an excerpt:

"Remember, you can ask repair questions about anything, not just Macs!

Here's a surfboard repair question:

Can I use normal Solar Rez to repair my epoxy surfboard?

So it was not so off topic, but in the spirit of that email only that i decided to post this question about my really old wooden skis. Down vote noted and I may try to stick strictly to repair questions.

I just saw this post again, and I wanted to note that I didn't vote you down. I think it was a good question about a problem with your hardware that needed fixing. Pictures on the wall are easy, but hanging skis without permanently damaging them is a tough nut to crack.

Hey, no worries. Thanks for the comment. I'm not gonna get wrapped around the axel about a down vote here and there, and I'm not gonna let it make me afraid to ask questionable questions.

Have you considered 3M Command Velcro hangers? Ace Hardware carries the large size which holds up to 10 pounds and they are very easy to take down. I use them for mounting dishes on wall... They come off easily (no residue.)

Consider superglue if you're going for permanence.

Adhesive won't hold that much weight. Especially the one that sticks to painted walls.

what about holes in the ceiling? And hanging them in nylon or metal wires close to the wall??

If you want to hang them horizontally, you can get screws with 'L' shaped ends, and balance the skis on them, perhaps using some at the top to keep the skis from tipping out.

If adhesive wouldn't work on painted walls, perhaps you could sand off the paint where the skis would cover anyway and use an adhesive to stick to the plaster

Adhesive is a bad idea, for heavy wood skies- it'd come right off.

I suggest hercules hooks.
