Was the phone working even with the cracked front panel before you did the screen replacement?

Solution retenue

If your LCD broke, the front panel kit is not going to help; you will need a Replacement LCD

I realize that this thread is quite old, but I may have found an answer. If the iPhone is turned on before the LCD and digitizer are physically connected, then LCD and digitizer are not found by OS, and they never turn on, even if connected later.

Solution: disassemble the phone, disconnect the circuit board, then reassemble, taking caution not to press the power button before connecting LCD.

Possible solution: hold power and home button together to reset the phone.

have you checked ALL your connections-1-6 and the battery contacts etc. Go back and check again.

If you have done all this, you may have damaged more than just the screen. the clue to what may have broken will be in the area of most damage to the phone. start looking in that place

I have the same issue - Screen won't display anything after replacing the screen and digitizer. However, I do hear a the charging sound when i plug the iphone to the wall. I check the connection. They seems to be all connected. However, i am not sure how to check that the 2 wires from the digitizer are actually connecting to the mother board. Are they supposed to snap into place? It's difficult for me to check if the wires are lined up with the mother board when I intall the mother board and battery back into the assembly. Any idea how to check this connection properly?

Remplacement de l'écran complet de l'iPhone 3GS follow this to check on your connections. I think 1 and 2 snap, 3 is a ribbon cable that requires you to loosen the small clip to remove it. Good luck.

I have the same problem... LCD lights up but nothing further happens... When I put the charger in I heard the sound... Have tried disconnecting the board from the battery but still the same...

This happened some time back too but I just don't know how I fixed it...

No damage at all can be seen, I bought a new back housing and after putting it all back together this happened...

Any ideas guys?

if the LCD doesn't show after replacing it on a 3g or 3gs , hold the home button and power button down till it reboots, should work after that

I can tell you from lots of Iphone repairs its connector 1 is not on connected as the plug is loose. I dont recommend it but with the plastic tool move the pins in slightly or put a pieces of tape to hold it on.
