Routing Fuel lines on weedeater

How do you route fuel lines on a troy-bilt jump start 4 stroke with primer on the cover.

How does it go from the primer, to the tank, to the carb?

I have the same problem and repair places don't want to tell you anything. They want to charge you to fix it and its not worth that much. I can buy a new one. Watching this for the cure

Is there a video for model tb675ec showing how to change primer and fuel lines. The tb675ec has two outlets in the primer one goes to gas tank where does the second one go?

All brittle parts on my model 35879600 craftsmen weed eater have failed..(primer bulb,all tygon lubes including the tube in the tank ) .What the replacement? I tried Sears but it's a crazy website..😣

I've seen many folks with questions regarding the correct routing of fuel lines on machines that use a 3 port primer (purge) bulb. My answer is rather lengthy so if I can help please email me at walthoddinott@yahoo.com. I'm an old hand at small engines. Prior to Covid I had my own small engine repair business. I've got just over 45 years doing this! I will prepare a response with diagrams and photos to get you through this. Thanks all and be safe!

Problem

How are the three fuel line on the hand held engines attached?

Solution

The 3 fuel lines should be connected as follows:

  1. The (clear) main fuel line with the filter (filter inside the fuel tank) goes to the bottom of the carburetor (or the elbow shaped nipple).
  2. The (clear) fuel intake line runs from the top of the carburetor (straight nipple) and goes to the short post on the back of the primer bulb.
  3. The return line (blue) comes from the long post on the back of the primer bulb and goes into the bottom of the fuel tank.

Well if that's the way the 3 lines hook up that leaves one outlet on primer and one on carb.whar hooks to them it's a tb685ec l have straight shaft that someone gave me.do they have the wrong primer bulb on it.could someone explain this one for me.thanks

Please read through new comments as I only just now addressed this issue. ANY time you come across a machine that has a 3 port primer, it never has a choke! The additional port is to inject a small portion of fuel directly into the carb. All these bulbs have a single intake and 2 output ports.

The video was for a primer with the three outlets. The primer on my Weedeater has two outlets model tb675ec

The video isn’t enough. I need to replace the fuel lines in and out for a tb625. I only need to know where the lines go in ap, out and to primer,

I think you have the routing of the "N" and "P" ports reversed. I found to get it to work proper the N - (IN) port on the Primer/Purge Bulb goes to the short straight port on the top of the carb while the P port from the bulb goes to the elbow port on the bottom of the carb. The only other port on the carb is the main fuel line and goes direct through the hole at the top of the gas tank with the gas filter on its end...it doesn't even go to the bulb. The last port on the bulb is the return line.... is usually the longest port on the bulb (normally a green tube) and goes directly to the gas tank return port bypassing the carb completely and goes through the other of the two holes on the top of the gas tank top.

If you only have 2 lines from the primer bulb 1 has to go to tank an 1 goes to carb.l have 3 on mine 1 to carb drain and 2 to stick inside tank

With all 2 port primer (purge) bulbs the longer port is ALWAYS the output and should return to the tank. This is the line that pressurizes the tank to force fuel through the filter and up to the carb.

Typically after-market parts are available. But, Sears is, for all intents and purposes, is gone. I suggest you contact Nancy Robinson at Sears Holding Corp. LLC (Nancy.robinson@searshc.com for directions for your model. They are very hard to deal with but you must be persistent. Or search for your model and contact an after-market parts dealer.
