motor runs, lens will not extend to open
when trying to open camera, motor runs, but the lens will not extend then the motor shuts off. help

bubbylady, The very delicate gears that drive/extend the lens may have become worn, out of alignment or damaged and the lens assy. may need to be replaced. I will post a guide below to show how the lens can be accessed so you can check it out and replace if needed. If not wanting to do the trouble shooting/repair your self have a good local camera shop have a look and estimate repair, as the repair is listed as very difficult. Good luck.
