iPhone 5s randomly turns off/shut down.

Hi.

I have an iPhone 5s that keeps shutting down randomly, several times a day.

I have tried 2 new different batteries. But same problem.

When plugged in charger it starts again with a lot of remaining battery.

When replaced battery i did the battery calibration.

Draining the phone to 0 %, charge to 100 % and force restart.

Any ideas what this is.

I replaced the battery in the first place because i started have the problem with it shutting down a 30-40 % power.

Is this a software issue??

I also have this problem, however, if I turn on my phone and I'm on it for a max of 2 mins my iPhone will shut down no matter the percentage and then automatically turn on.after it has turned on it is at 1% then when I unlock the phone I go back to the original percent it was on when it turned off. I originally bought the phone from Tesco and are on a contract with them. so I contacted them and they then replied with ''we cannot do anything with your phone however if you take it to the nearest apple store (over 200 miles away) they will replace it there and then that is if they find an issue with the system. my phone is in pristine condition however Tesco said that they would not replace it because it was not within their 1-month quarantine which is total bullshit because it was on a year quarantine and I received the phone less than 6 months ago then they said that they changed the amount of time a week ago but i was not informed of this change at all

I still have my 5s. I only use it basically as a hand-held computer with onboard apps that work. (I have an 8s as my "phone".). It's amazing how well it works for this purpose. AND, I can use it to take multi-angle shots and videos and cut those together. So to me, my old 5s is still a viable tool and worth a lot more than throwing it away or selling it for $20. Recycle, reuse, repurpose!

Is your lhone not charging i mean it fake charges when not in use but when your using the phone the percent moves ?Maybe your FL11 is the problem try replacing it if not then maybe your port and at last Your u2 ic maybe the problem is your phone showing random battery percentage ?But i think you accidentally broke the FL11 while replacing the battery considering the fact that you tried other battery

Search the FL11 on 5s then check if your FL 11 is still on your phone or is gone and maybe the continuity of it to the connector is broken

While u2 ic is all about using third party cables .it is the battery percentage indicator but in your case its more likely the FL 11 is missing

To clarify what @kobexkyrie is saying:

OP, he is referring to the small components right above the battery connector when unplugging the battery. It's common for that to happen if you are not careful as you can dig your nails or prying tool on those small components and knock them off causing these issues.

Hi Guys.

Thank you for your answers. Lots of good info!

I have been looking at the components and cant seem to see any damaged / missing components.

FL11 could of cause still be bad...

I have postet picture of iPhone 5s above in my original question.

Any ideas?

I'm not saying this will work for you, but I had the exact same problem. I found a perfect, easy fix for this AND it's a tension-release at the same time. Here's what I did: I took my 5s and SLAMMED IT agains the wall as hard as I could. Then I jumped up and down on it repeatedly while cursing. Not sure if it was the slamming, jumping on or cursing that worked, but now it works great! It even talks to me and keeps me company when I get lonesome. Another phine product phrum the lovely people at Apple.

Well I have a similar problem. Actually my phone fell down hard on the ground and went off for sometime. I shook the phone and pressed the power button. It come on but I have been having random restarts ever since. My iPhone now goes off and I have to now press the power button again. It’s becoming annoying. Any suggestions please to solve this?

Options

Restore the device as new, then restoring from a backup, but only do this after you’ve made a backup of everything on your iPhone 5s.

Connect the iPhone to a computer and launch iTunes
From iTunes, choose to “Back Up Now” – this will make a most recent backup of the iPhone and everything on it (you can also backup to iCloud if you want) – wait for this to finish
When the backup is complete, choose to “Restore iPhone” from the iTunes options
Let the restore process complete, when finished the iPhone will start as if it was brand new. In this setup process, choose to restore from your backup that you just made.

Note that restoring the iPhone this way will also install the latest version of iOS available for your device.
